Weekly Roundup

No fun pictures today, just a quick roundup of things that happened this week. Of course Christian graduated from kindergarten, there is a whole post about that. But here are some fun things I learned this week:

*Jessica is now blowing raspberries. A LOT of raspberries. I learned that even if she is eating her baby food nice and calm it just takes one raspberry at the exact second a spoonful of food hits her lips to make quite a mess! Half sprayed up on me, and half sprayed up her face and into her hair. Very funny, but I was so busy wiping up the mess that we didn't get a picture.

*Christian and Declan were enjoying story time on thursday when a book we were reading mentioned an egg-and-spoon race. So we pulled out the plastic easter eggs and some spoons and learned how it's done. We learned that egg-and-spoon races are much more fun when you're holding the end of the spoon in your mouth, and even more fun when you are hopping up and down on one foot. The boys had a great time coming up with different challenging ways to hold a race.

*Even though Declan should get in trouble for this, it was kinda cute. Jessica was sitting up and Declan came over and wrapped his arms around her. After tipping her sideways he declared with a smile on his face "Her falling over, so I catching her!" :)

*I -HEART- my green bags! I learned that they really do work and keep my fruits and vegetables fresher longer. We tested this theory this week and the bananas in the bag are perfectly yellow and ripe and the banana that was left out of the bag as a control is very, very brown. Maybe not so exciting to some people, but very exciting to us. We get large quantities of fruits and vegetables every other weekend from a food co-op and we are excited to keep them all fresh to last the entire two weeks.

*I learned that even if Declan wakes me up at an un-earthly early hour of the day after being up all night with Jessica (read: I am one CRANKY MAMA) he can melt me into a puddle of love that makes me so grateful to be his mommy. He crept into the bedroom very quietly and snuck up into the bed and before I could say a word he began to sing the "I love you" song. This is a song that we have sung over the years to our kids, simply inserting the correct name for whomever we are singing too. This is the first time it has been sung to me by one of my children. So I woke up to -
"I love you mommy, oh yes I do. I love you mommy, and I'll be true. When you're not near me, I'm blue. Oh mommy, I love you"
Definitely one of the best mornings of my life. After he sang the "I love you" song, he then sang "You are my sunshine" and "I love to see the temple"

All I can say is WOW. What a fun adventure it is to be a mom.
