We decided that we need to be more like Matt and Jayna because they are awesome! Seriously, we are in awe of their green thumbs and how they are able to grow such great flowers and plants. They have also created a great raised garden in their backyard. They gave us some of their extra tomato plants after they got their garden planted so we got in the spirit and also planted strawberries, broccoli, bell peppers and hot peppers. We attempted a garden almost 5 years ago in our backyard and miserably failed. But this time we are starting to succeed! Baby steps, baby steps. We just harvested our first red, ripe strawberry. Yippee! Here is Christian doing the actual picking of the strawberry -
Here he is licking his lips. For real. We did not stage this at all. I thought it was so cute!
In case the first pics didn't do it justice, here it is again. We actually accomplished growing an edible piece of fruit. It was delicious! There are quite a few more strawberries growing right now that are green and just starting to turn red. We look forward to throwing them into smoothies soon.

I must say we are a little jealous, we haven't gotten any strawberries that big yet :). We very much enjoyed reading all the new posts and seeing all the pictures of our favorite nephews and niece. We loved that in true blogger fashion you took a picture of Declan licking the floor before making him stop - too funny!
